Boat Rentals
Boating on Bass Lake is a favorite for local and visitors. The lake is narrow and only 4 1/2 miles long, so please be aware of lake boating safety rules.
The lake is traveled counter-clockwise. When riding a jet ski or waverunner you are allowed to travel the whole lake, but if you want to “play or spin” you must use the designated jet ski areas.
If you rent a boat on Bass Lake, you will need to go thru a safety/rules video so you know the rules of the lake. Here’s a link to Boating Safety for California.
If you bring your own boat, remember to get your Bass Lake Pollution Control Sticker here: https://lf.co.madera.ca.gov/Forms/C14687v3
NEW for 2026! The Bass Lake Boat Patrol has created a special Bass Lake Navigation Aid map. This map shows approximate Aid To Navigation (ATON) locations, as well as some of the lake hazards and the legal direction of travel. Also shown are fuel locations, restricted areas, Personal Watercraft areas, Swim areas, and some of the nearby trails. The depth of Bass Lake varies throughout the year. Additional underwater and shoreline hazards may be present. Be alert for potential hazards.
