4th of July Fireworks at Bass Lake
The Light Up the Sky Bass Lake Fireworks and Boat Parade is a must-see Fourth of July celebration at Bass Lake, drawing visitors from across the Sierra Nevada and Central Valley. Held annually on July 4th, the event features a festive boat parade at 7:00 pm followed by Madera County’s largest fireworks show beginning around 9:00 pm.
Spectators spend the day enjoying the lake, lining the beaches, and anchoring boats on the water for prime viewing. As night falls, fireworks are launched from a barge between The Pines Resort and The Forks Resort, illuminating the sky and reflecting across Bass Lake’s waters. The combination of cool mountain air, towering pines, and echoing fireworks creates an unforgettable holiday experience.
Sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce and supported by community donations, the Bass Lake 4th of July fireworks remain a cherished tradition. Whether watching from shore or boat, this iconic event offers one of the best Independence Day fireworks displays in California.

Keep the Tradition Alive: Support the Bass Lake 4th of July Fireworks
One of the oldest and most cherished traditions at Bass Lake is the Fourth of July fireworks display. This beloved celebration began in 1937, when the very first show was launched from the dock of the Falls Resort by Fred Homan. Nearly nine decades later, that same spirit of community and patriotism continues to light up our skies.
For many families, this evening is filled with memories—watching reflections dance across the lake, hearing cheers echo through the pines, and sharing a moment that connects generations.
This spectacular show is made possible entirely through donations from local businesses, homeowners, and visitors. We are deeply grateful to those who have already contributed during our membership drive—your support truly makes a difference. For those who haven’t yet donated, it’s never too late to be part of this tradition.
No amount is too small. Every contribution helps ensure that this long-standing celebration continues to bring smiles, awe, and joy to young and old alike for years to come.
